196 colours of acetate are chosen in different shades every six months to create three trillion different colour combinations for frames that include 8 to 12 colours. It takes 41 days to make one pair of glasses. 0.5-1 cm thick acetate plates are cut and then glued together using three different types of glue. The semi-finished product is left for 12 days under 300 kg presses and then placed in special ovens for 14 days, at different temperatures to prevent the formation of bubbles and eliminate critical points. At this point, the frames with their unrepeatable mix of colours are ready to undergo the traditional production method.

The Bespoke Dudes Eyewear models marry the concept of sustainability with Italian craftsmanship by supporting the expert craftsmen that have always represented our country. As a matter of fact, our models are the result of a 50-year-old expertise obtained in a family-run workshop. Our goal is to guarantee a continuity of the Italian craftsmanship and to protect our heritage through an entirely Italian production, starting from the very hinges of our handmade sunglasses that were picked from a Venetian lot dating back to the 30’s.

Francis Pike is designed by Lucio and Francesco who were tired of fragile sunglasses with cheap or low-quality features and they decided to tackle the problem from the source. Hinges loosen up, temple bars bend and frames break too easily, too often. Even more expensive and resistant frames have this same weakness: the hinge. And that’s what they focused on. their objective is to offer a durable pair of sunglasses, excellent in every aspect. To address the problematic issue of hinge, Francis Pike presented a unique patent system which allows the temple bars to stay in position and safely detach when put under extreme stress conditions. These specially chosen magnets are shielded to prevent any magnetic fields from interfering.

Trained as an architect in the historic city of Venice, Lara D’Alpaos launched her first eyewear collection under the name Lara D’ in 2010. Raised in a family with over 40 years’ expertise in Italian eyewear production, and passionate about fashion and design, her launch collection exceeded all expectations, successfully combining Italian craftsmanship, quality and a whimsical design language - a style that is creative and original, but never out of place.
Lara’s fascination for architecture and her studies in art conservation, restoration and interior design led her to create her own unique design style in eyewear, linked closely to her passion for innovative industrial design concepts, artistic disciplines and the creative possibilities of playing with nuances of colour. Yuichi Toyama, an impressive Japanese eyewear designer, uses his name to build up his eyewear brand. His brand philosophy is “traditional skills with innovative design” which means a distinctively beautiful design that features comfortability, functionality and durability. In 2015, he came across a group of kids playing “double dutch” in yoyogi park and came up with his most famous “Dutch design” which is composed of two metal rims crossed at the joint part of temple and front. In order to make this “Dutch design” stands out, light, durable and allergy free titanium all imported from Japan is selected for the materials. “Shadow design” in the lens is also a very unique characteristics of his collection.
