Registrations are open for buyers, designers, entrepreneurs, opticians, ophthalmologists, journalists and all operators in the eyewear supply chain for the next edition of MIDO: by connecting to the event website (https://www.mido.com/) it is possible to register for the exhibition, scheduled from 30 April to 2 May 2022.
With the recent “Covid Law Decree”, issued by the Italian government at the beginning of February, MIDO 2022 is even more open to international mobility and to foreign visitors, who will be able to freely access fairs with a vaccine certification recognized in italy or with a rapid or molecular negative test if the vaccine certification is not recognized in italy. Although Mido management invites you to please check the rules of your country, before flying, no quarantine is necessary with a complete vaccination cycle certification and negative test.
“This is the sign of openness that we have been waiting for and which confirms the foresight in the choice of programming MIDO 2022 in the spring – commented the President of MIDO Giovanni Vitaloni. With this decree we will in fact be able to achieve greater internationality and the participation that has always distinguished us. There is a greater sense of security among the operators in the sector, there is an atmosphere of optimism and great enthusiasm. We are ready to surprise our audience because ‘craving for Mido’ is contagious and we can’t wait to meet again “.
A further sign of confidence also comes from the numbers of the sector, released on the occasion of the ANFAO assembly. In the last nine months of 2021, the data showed an improvement compared to the expectations of the first part of the year and a complete return to the values of 2019. In particular, the recovery is mainly driven by prescription frames for exports and ophthalmic lenses in the domestic market, while for exports all the main reference countries for Italian eyewear are showing a good recovery.
“The companies in our sector are back to full activity – concludes Vitaloni – and look to the upcoming MIDO 2022 as an unmissable opportunity to finally meet national and international customers physically and to present the collections, which will be about durability, research, sustainability and quality. It is no longer the time for attempts and waste. There is a need for concreteness and at MIDO we are ready to respond to this need “.
